And now, here's Gary.

We have been looking at the words of Jesus starting in John 14,

where he told his disciples that he was going to prepare a place for them,

and he said, if I go and prepare a place for you, I'll come again,

and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also.

And that started that discussion that we looked at a couple of weeks ago,

in which Thomas and Philip and Jude started asking Jesus questions.

And so we are able to see a recorded private conversation between Jesus and the disciples.

Basically, he's filling them in on

what he has to do, and he's telling them how things are going to be in terms of the relationship

that he will have with them in the future. They don't have a clue as to what he's talking about,

not a clue. And they're asking each other, can you understand what he's saying? And so we can sympathize

with the disciples because essentially you have God among men and when that happens, the men are

usually clueless. And I put myself right in those ranks because I ask God a lot of questions.

Stupid questions, by the way,

and he's gracious enough to allow me to ask stupid questions. Thus it is, and thus it shall be until I am taken home to be with the Lord, and then I'll probably have a whole bunch of other

questions at that time. But that's another story. In John chapter 15, he talked about the vine

and the branches, a study in relationship. In John chapter 16, he started to break the bad news

that he was going away, that he was going to be arrested, that the world hated him.
