Summary
In this episode Kerry and his Jerusalem Center student, Sterling, explore Sterling's experience with the song Angels We Have Heard On High, both on his mission and in Bethlehem. That leads to Kerry remembering a singing experience that helped the nativity story become more real to his family in Bethlehem.
We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for our editor, Alexia Muhlestein, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.

| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the scriptures or real podcast. |
| 0:11.3 | This is the podcast where we talk about elements of the scriptures that help them become more real to us because we believe we can apply them to our lives better when they become real. |
| 0:19.5 | And that helps us draw more power out of them |
| 0:21.8 | and we need all the power we can get. I'm your host, Kerry Mealstein. And before I introduce my |
| 0:26.6 | my guest today, I thought maybe we'd just take care of a little bit of business as we're |
| 0:32.0 | really nearing the end of our first year as a podcast. I think we started about this time last year. |
| 0:38.7 | So this is about a year. |
| 0:40.8 | And I've had a lot of people asking, we are going to continue the podcast. |
| 0:44.5 | We'll be doing this in the New Testament year. |
| 0:47.1 | In fact, next week we'll have Andy Skinner, Andrew Skinner, as our guest, |
| 0:51.8 | who will take us through the transition that what we call |
| 0:55.6 | the intertestimental period, the period from the end of the Old Testament to the beginning of the |
| 0:59.2 | New Testament, which will help you understand the New Testament so much better. So be ready for that |
| 1:03.7 | next year, or next week to get us ready for next year. And then we'll continue on, but with maybe |
| 1:10.7 | some slight changes. This year, I didn't do |
| 1:15.0 | the podcast as much the way I'd originally conceived of it, because as we got going, it really |
| 1:20.4 | seemed like people were wanting a lot of help with understanding the Old Testament. So we were a |
| 1:26.1 | little more intense at some periods than |
| 1:28.3 | normal. Like Isaiah, we'd have up to seven episodes a week and so on. I don't anticipate doing that |
| 1:34.4 | again with New Testament. So often probably one episode and sometimes a short cast or something, |
| 1:42.1 | it will really depend on who has stories they want to share, |
| 1:45.4 | how many we'll do each week. So we'll do at least one each week, and sometimes maybe three or four |
