0:18.9	naturally you think of pornography and masturbation, a sin with which many, many men struggle and quite a few women struggle as well.
0:27.0	But a sin that can be super insidious because, given that it's addictive, super hard to break the habit, but also it gets under our
0:36.5	skin to the core of our person and seems to convince us that we'll never be beyond this baseness
0:42.3	or that we'll never be beyond this baseness or that will never be beyond this moral ugliness, that
0:46.0	it will just come to characterize us, that it will come, yeah, to define us.
0:51.1	So I think in this instance, it's important to speak into that space to speak a word of
0:55.9	encouragement to speak a word of hope not just in like tips and tricks but in
1:00.4	helping to situate this struggle within the setting of one's ongoing conversion,
1:05.4	within the setting of the story of salvation as it pertains to you, because God has a plan for your life,
1:10.5	even amidst the struggle with sin and vice, and it's a a good plan and it's a plan which will come to its term which will come to successful issue.
1:17.0	So let's think about it together here we go.
1:20.0	Okay so I think a great place to start in this conversation is with repentance.
1:28.0	And here I think of the biblical notion and maybe you've heard this word,
1:32.0	metanoia, or you've heard some form of this word,
1:34.9	Metanoia. A rough translation, a kind of literalistic translation might be, you know, to think beyond
1:41.0	or to envision beyond or to abide beyond.
1:45.0	And the reason I bring this up is because, you know, we hear in the sacred scriptures that were meant to put on the mind of Christ or that were meant to be transformed by the renewal of our minds.
