Hello and welcome to Inside the Data with Jeff Mosher and Sam Finkel.

That's right.

We've got a new name for this wonderful show involving Sam and it's going to be permanent going forward.

It's a new name, but still the same faces.

I'm Jeff Mosher.

I'm with Sam Finkel.

He is our analytics expert.

He is the man in charge of all of the data that we are giving you here on Inside the Birds.

And Sam's been doing a great job as we are entrenched in a long series where we're looking at

each positional group of college prospects available for the NFL draft. And Sam is making

scatter charts for these position groups and showing you how these players test both athletically

and in college production. And when you combine them, where that

falls on the chart, what quadrant. And it just helps give a nice analytical look at the college

process because we know, Sam, how much NFL teams value this. And I like that we do this concurrently

this series with our other show involving Greg Kosell's tape breakdown.

And not surprisingly, Sam, since I'm involved with both shows, what NFL teams always like to do,

as you know, is does the tape match the testing after the combine, right? Sometimes it does.

For the most part it does. Every once in a while there's a guy who blows it up or doesn't blow it up and they have to go back.

But not surprisingly, a lot of the names that are falling in your upper right quadrant or your upper left for athleticism are guys that Greg is pointing out are either really productive or have supreme athletic skill sets.

Yeah, you would hope there would be some correlation between that.

And, you know, it helps really

distinguish who are the elite producers and, you know, who are the elite athletes and hopefully get both.
