When I was 13, I looked like the kind of girl that would make a responsible babysitter.

That's what my aunt and uncle thought when they offered me my very first job, they wanted

me to watch my younger cousins, Tom and Rebecca, who were age three and five, well they went

out to a party and I was thrilled.

It was 1974, it was the Hamptons and most of the adults I knew played hard and worked hard.

But when I saw them, they were mostly playing hard.

We lived about a mile and a half away from my aunt and uncle's house, so that night my

mom drove me over to about five, dropped me off.

The first big mistake I made that night was to ask my aunt if my best friend, Mousie,

could come over and help me babysit.

And she said, sure, my aunt didn't know my best friend, Mousie very well.

My best friend, Mousie, was so much fun.

She was so resourceful, but she was also so naughty.
