But a couple months ago, I realized that being tired and hungover and cranky

didn't really help with all the existing feelings of anxiety and malaise.

Not to mention waking up and mistaking a scratchy throat from late night wine

for COVID symptoms was a pretty terrible way to start every day. So I think we

need to think about being gentle with ourselves when it comes to eating and

drinking and other pleasures during this very weird time. But also understand

that those things aren't fixes for what's bothering us. They're just a cover-up.
