I think he enjoyed getting free money.

We started to refer to this as the Purple Heart

fraudster case. Right's victims are veterans who feel their sacrifices

have been tarnished by his lives. Their valor has been stolen.

It's like a stab in the heart and then twisting it deeper. That's how it feels. In 2005 the Iraq War is grinding on with no end in sight.

Darryl Wright, then a lieutenant

with the Idaho National Guard

is just one of 140,000 American troops serving here.

But he stands out.

The first thing you notice when you meet there all right, that's how incredibly tall he is.

I mean, this guy's, I don't know how tall he is, but he's the tallest guy I've ever met in the army.

Wright's job is helping turn local Iraqis into a lean mean fighting force.

Basic to ask how to shoot a weapon, how to play grenades, how to do whatever,

and just start to teach them like, I mean like a mini boot camp.
