The U.S. Open gets underway tomorrow at famed Oakmont in Western PA.

You know, when we talk and I have you on before every major and sometimes the players or whatever,

and more times than not the

conversation ends up being about your favorite teams in town here uh the skins the caps the wizards

and the gnats but we're going to talk golf today is this in all of our conversations over

the years is this the conversation that is dominated by the golf course itself more than any other

conversation we've ever had?

Yeah, outside of the Masters, which goes to Augusta National every year, Kevin.

And let's say an open at St. Andrews, Oakmont is the golf course that everybody identifies with a

U.S. Open, how difficult it is, how brutal it is, the look and feel of it. It looks exactly

the way it's supposed to look for a U.S. Open. And it's going to be a beast, man. It is going to be a big time challenge for these guys so tell

everybody why it's such a beast all right there's a for golf fans they'll know this for for sports

fans they might not there's a thing called a stint meter um and that measures the quickness of the greens and you start getting into the

teams and you're talking about pGA tour golf you start getting into the middle teams you're talking

about major championship golf here they run about 15 on the stem which is incredibly fast and because

the greens slope so much here i mean they really are undulating

really really move left to right up and down back and forth there's such a challenge and then you

add the rough here at oakmont and the rough at oakmont is so nasty you can't even see your
