I'm serious.

Jack Langford called me.

He had him on the program not too long ago. And he called me and let me know and said,

expect a call from you. And I said, well, okay. But I am really just honored to be here.

Well, we're honored to have you.

Now, I want to say right up front that Steve's book, it's called In the Beginnings,

notice the word beginnings is plural, deals with the age of the earth as seen in the pages of scripture. And let's start by talking about

how you became interested in dealing with this subject, going all the way back to the fact

that you are steeped in science. Yes. You did service in the Navy, for example, and you

had a technical profession there. Tell us about that. Well, in the Navy, actually, I was not a Christian when I first joined. I became

a Christian in the Navy, but I was in submarines, computer technician, electronic technician,

navigation. And at that time, I was, I believe in God, I was a theistic evolutionist.

But as I started, I won't go into details, but as I began to study the Bible more and more

and more, I began to realize that evolution was not true.

From the scientific perspective, science showed it was not true.

And that meant I had a problem with my theology. So I began to study what does the

Bible say? And there's lots of different opinions, different interpretations, different theories

you call them. But what does the Bible really say? And I was a theistic evolutionist,
