Every once in a while I'll see a billboard in LA for a show that's happening in Vegas.

Come to Vegas, you know, the Allman Brothers Band is going to be there for the weekend or

Houdini, David Copperfield.

How older are you? Come see Billy the Kids.

Billy the Kids. Billy the Kid didn't perform, who's the one that performed? Oh, Buffalo Bill? Roy Rogers?

Roy Rogers, Buffalo Bill. Anyway, I think back fondly when I see those billboards to a time

where we used to fairly regularly go to Vegas. I would say we'd go maybe every couple of months and I remember

one trip quite clearly because it was the night of the Obama election, the first Obama election,

and we were leaving and it was that, you know, it was like the Nicholas

Cage movie, Leaving Las Vegas. We were a little depleted and we were all in a car headed back

to the airport to get our Southwest flight and one of us got a text from a lady, I believe.

And they said, come back, we have going gonna have a table for you and and drinks and we have this whole thing set up for you dinner

You know, it was like a real nice invitation and I have two friends so it would be kind of like a triple date yeah

it's like a triple date and you know we all jointly agreed that it would be for the best to rather than going back to

LA the night of the alike this very historical election let's head back in the car to

back to the belly of the beast in Vegas and go back to our hotel room and have one

more night because we had this nice this fun setup and we sure enough the whoever whichever lady was there took us to this place this

it wasn't a place we would have normally we would have chosen to go because it was kind of like a loud dooshy club but sure enough they had like a little dinner they had nice

The food there was so good and they had a little table set up for us and and the two other nice ladies there and the whole thing was looking like it was going to come to fruition and one of them said, you know, we're just, we'll be right back, we're just going to go talk to somebody or do something and the three of them left and they never came back

They just left us there. They stood us up. Yep. They stood us up. We had a, it was a triple stand-up.

I remember being really annoyed at the time, but now I'm happy it happened because it helps me remember

that election and I, because I remember where I was now.
