Summary

Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost 20-10 to the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday behind another shotty offensive performance that featured missed touchdowns, dropped passes, and an injured Kenny Pickett. Will the Steelers' offense ever take real steps forward to stop being below average? Or is this just who they will always be? Also, Mike Tomlin made it clear about the NFL referees who called the game that he wasn't happy with their decisions. There were huge mistakes and it does suggest full-time referees are needed. But even with those calls, why didn't the Steelers overcome them when the opportunities were there? Finally, the defense showed more signs of progress as they limited the Jaguars' run game, even while Minkah Fitzpatrick and Cam Heyward still weren't playing. Could this defense be closer to being elite than realized? And would that be enough for the Steelers to compete with the best in the AFC?
