Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams featured the offense finally delivering three touchdowns in a game, led by a solid showing from Kenny Pickett, who was perfect in the fourth quarter. He was joined by a strong offensive line performance that limited Aaron Donald, and several big plays by Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, Diontae Johnson and George PIckens. Is the offense closer to figuring it out? Also, the defense saw Joey Porter Jr. step up again in the secondary, but the biggest factor was how the unit limited Cooper Kupp, and still kept the Rams' offense in check even with Sean McVay's plan. McVay schemed his offense to limit T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith as edge rushers, and succeeded in that. But the Steelers' defense learned from their loss to the Houston Texans, and countered that with solid play from Minkah Fitzpatrick, their linebackers and interior defensive line. It was a team win for the Steelers and the closest they've played to a complete game. Could this be a sign that Mike Tomlin's Steelers will become a major contender this season?
