US tariffs on steel and aluminum just doubled to 50%.

At a rally last week, President Donald Trump said the additional duties would bring more

security to the American steel industry.

We don't want America's future to be built with shoddy steel from Shanghai.

We want it built with the strength and the pride of Pittsburgh.

But while the struggling U.S. steel industry is applauding the move, it's worrying sectors

that heavily use the metals, like carmakers and can manufacturers.

The leap in tariffs likely won't hit American pocketbooks right away,

but experts say higher prices are inevitable on things like construction projects, car lots and appliances.

And while the tariffs could protect steel manufacturing jobs, they could hurt employment in much larger industries. The State Department has revoked the visas of the family of the man accused of

carrying out Sunday's anti-Semitic attack in Boulder, Colorado.

That's according to an official, and comes after it was reported that they'd been taken into ICE

custody yesterday. The White House said

Muhammad Solomon's wife and five children are facing a, quote, expedited removal, but it's not

clear if it's legally possible to put them on a fast track. The FBI identified Soleiman as the

lone suspect in the attack, and an affidavit shows he told detectives no one knew about his plans.
