Leonard Skinner to me was a drug-y group and an alcoholic group, which they were.

But I prefer different music, the cars, the police. I was a little off, not to mention sticks and

Boston and Aerospace. I love that. But Leonard Skinner and bands like that, Grateful Dan,

just didn't do anything for me. Now that I'm older, I'm old now, 61, Jesus Christ.

I've seen documentaries on the Leonard Skinner band and what they went through in the playing crash

and how they wrote songs and I tell you I love them now. I love them. And now that I've visited the

South, I feel a little more akin to the way those folks down there grew up and the things they

sing about. But when I was a kid in high school, senior year, we were voting for our class song,

our prom song. What's it going to be? It was between the Beatles song in my life, right? John

London in my life, I loved you all, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. It was between free bird and in my

life. And I was like, please, not free bird. I, because we had a lot of guys, a lot of guys and

girls in high school who wore gene jackets and played handball and smoked behind the school or

smoking a boys room in the girls room. It was a big thing, but then they smoked on the bus going

to school. I didn't like those people. We called them dirt bags, which is a horrible name.

We were called jocks. They were called dirt bags. Maybe in your day, you called them greasers or

whatever you call them. In West Island Pied School, they were called dirt bags. It's really funny.
