The State Department right now has three challenges that are really, really difficult.

No obvious answers. That would be the Gaza war the Ukraine

war and the war at the border between the United States and Mexico I welcome welcome Mary Kessel, a veteran of the State Department,

Executive Vice President Stevens Incorporated now, former senior advisor to the Secretary of State.

Before that, a member at the editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal to comment

on these three imponderables, the State Department in Gaza.

We begin with the calls by the Biden administration and Secretary Blinken for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Now that Synoir is dead, the ceasefire is being redoubled this time by a representative of the Biden administration.

That would be the Vice President Ms Harris running for president.

I note that Mr. Blinkin is now engaged again, this time not about Hamas only, but also about Hezbollah and a ceasefire.

The word ceasefire is repeated several times by the Biden administration, by the Lincoln State

Department, by the Vice President running for

office. Mary a very good evening to you. Cease fire is a good idea but there's something

repetitive about the way that the Biden team has been calling for it for some time.

What is your speculation about what they want out of a ceasefire?

Why a ceasefire given the provocation and the threat of Hamas to the people of Israel?
