The news from London and Jerusalem is that the major division for the Israeli Defense Forces

is pulling back for arrest and rehab after continuous combat for six months that the

deployment in and around Con Yunus that has been fighting fiercely for these last weeks has left and one brigade is left

for security in all of Gaza.

Why?

The story is that there must be an evacuation of the Palestinian civilians out of Rafa area

before the final battle starts. There is a political story as well. This is the Israeli cabinet led by Benjamin Netanyahu making a

small concession to Washington for what is called a ceasefire. The French have called for it, Mr McCrown, the Egyptians have called for Mr.

Sisi, all the voices for a ceasefire. In this period, one month, two months unknown, there will be negotiations for

hostages for a permanent ceasefire. We can't see ahead, but we can say that Hamas remains four battalions dug in in

Rafa. What is to be done given that this is politics now.

The State Department has this time to negotiate.

The Biden administration has this time to negotiate.

And I welcome Mary Kessel, Executive Vice President Stevens Incorporated, former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State

who has witnessed these source of diplomatic initiatives, negotiations over something that is pending, but hasn't happened yet.

Mary, it's very generalized, but it is true that state is now in the primary position of talking, talking, to Jerusalem, to Cairo,

to Qatar, to Moscow, all of this.

What is your measure of what state can achieve in this pause of Gaza?
