Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson as always. I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on the Monday edition of the yard. It's not a real jovial place around here at the Robertson House. You know, we have dropped three games to LSU. And, you know, ordinarily, we break down the weekend and we go in depth and we talk about what happened. I don't think you guys want to hear that today.

And I know that I really don't want to talk about it today. I'll be honest with you, losing LSU to me is worse than losing to Ole Miss. Because I grew up in the 80s, you know, when they were our rival school. And here's the thing. I mean, even in our better years, you know, they have found a way to kind of remind us we're not at their level.

And, uh... thing. I mean, even in our better years, you know, they have found a way to kind of remind us

we're not at their level. And, uh, it's bad. It is. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. We have not

won a series against the LSU Tigers in our home venue since 2003. You know, we won last year, and of course, we win the NFL championship.

And that's really, to be honest with you, last year, when we went down to Baton Rouge, and

we should have swept, we should have.

We take two of three.

And that's when we kind of feel like, hey, we've kind of got our hands around some lightning

here.

Because LSU, like it or not, is the measuring stick for Mississippi State Baseball.

Wasn't always that way. It wasn't. And as I wrote in Dogpile, that, you know, before Skip

Berman got there, LSU was and also ran in the southeastern conference they had

done nothing and then they come along in the 80s you know of course we were really strong in the late

70s and the early 80s and mid 80s and late 80s and then they kind of wrestled control of the

southeastern conference away from us so they became what we thought we should be.

And it's, I'm still bitter about it, to be honest with you. And hey, congratulations to

Skip and all those guys down there. You won it. You and I both know that if there was rigorous

testing back then, you may not have.

But the reality of it is they have those NAFL championships, and, you know, I suffer for a little bit of sour grapes when it comes to the Tigers. I'd just be honest with you. I do. I'm very

envious of what they have. Now, we have been better in recent years when you look at the totality of a schedule

and you look at what state has done in recent years.
