Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson as always.

I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard.

And oh, it is so magnificent. It's so much fun to talk to you guys about beating Ole Miss, man. It does. It's great.

You know, we are so emotionally invested in the rivalry. I know other people say, well, you know, Steve, it's just a game. It's not just a game. It's never just a game. I know there's some ominous people that listen to the show because they're so totally obsessed with us and with me. Let me tell you, we take a lot of pride in beating you, even when we're having a difficult season.

You know, it puts a little bit of a cherry on things, kind of a band-aid, and you say, you know what, hey, we may not be what we want to be, but we're better than those bums. And listen, all due respect to Ole Miss, I thought they played hard. It was a very competitive series. You know, State probably should have taken all three games.

You know, and that's what you expect.

We talk all the time about two teams that are similarly situated.

And you generally favor the team that's playing at home.

And the fact that we went in there and took two of three and probably should have all three, you know, kind of makes you lament that loss on Thursday even more. But also, too, you know, you get, this old miss team is probably not as bad as their record would indicate. And I would venture to say that's the same for Mississippi State. But this is an old miss team that is in many respects devoid of pitching.

You know, we've had some pitching issues, and I've shared with you guys on the show,

their pitching situation is even worse than ours, and in the end, that's what proved to be the difference in the ball game on Saturday.

So we're going to break the two wins down, and we're going to talk about some other things,

and, you know, picked up a commitment for the 2020

to 2022 class earlier in the weekend we'll talk about that later in the show but let's go ahead and

get to it I almost recorded the show last night I mean there were times on Sunday afternoon I was like hey

maybe I'll go ahead and record now and I was so excited to talk about it and And then I said, well, I'll do it tonight. I watched some college baseball yesterday. I love college baseball. Even when we don't play, I enjoy watching college baseball. Enjoyed that Texas A&M and Arkansas game immensely. You know, I don't know, to be honest, whether it may have been better us if Arkansas had won. But, you know, truth of the matter is, it's a competitive league this year. And outside of Tennessee, any team can lose to anybody else, which is why we've got to be on our P's and Q's this weekend as we get ready to head to Missouri. And, of course, we'll see you all miss on Tuesday. A lot of discussion about who's going to pitch. You can go vote over at jeanspage.com.
