What if you questioned everything?

My guest today is in Q, the spoken word, poetry slam champion.

Not only is he that champion, but he's also a multi-plotinum songwriter, written songs, hit songs for

the likes of Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Foster the People, and others.

Oprah called him the Super Soul 100 list of the world's most influential thought leader,

and who to thunk that on that list would be a poet.

Now, I know from knowing my art history that poetry is one of the oldest art forms in the world. In fact, it's just storytelling. And

if you know anything about storytelling, it's what in part connects us. Our brains are wired for story

and narrative. And that is in part what makes in Q, my guest today, an amazing

guest. Not only are stories a hook for us, as in they catch our interest, but they're also a

fantastic way of sharing and connecting with others, of understanding, and as a path to our own vulnerability.

Now, it's not often in any episode of any podcast that we get to have a deep,

meaningful conversation with the guests, in this case, in Q, around their vulnerability

as a creator, an entrepreneur, an artist, the humility that you have to have

to put in the work, the ability to look back on success, find out what worked and what didn't,

and understanding the struggles that we've all gone through or that in our particular case

lies a universal human truth. Of course, that is, it's amazing when you can get any one of those

things into an episode. But in this episode, we also get real live performances from InQ as a part

of his spoken word art. It is so powerful. He does, he performs two poems for us in the middle

of today's episode that will awaken you,
