Hey everybody, it's Anson. Over the last couple of episodes, actress and author Ileana Douglas

0:05.9

shared with us some amazing stories from her book, I Blamed Dennis Hopper. And a couple of those

0:11.5

stories had to do with something many of us have experienced, being starstruck.

0:20.4

And it's a weird thing that, isn't it? First of all, most of it's a weird thing that, isn't it?

0:23.6

First of all, most of its weirdness comes from the disbelief that you're actually standing

0:27.4

next to or talking to or shaking hands with someone you've only seen from afar.

0:33.1

And yes, almost every person out there listening to this has probably had that experience.

0:37.6

1:13.7

But when you're the recognizee, it really just means people sometimes come up to you and say,

1:19.0

hi, and they're usually really nice. They give you a pat on the back and say nice job.

1:24.7

It's kind of like being an electrician, and every now and then a stranger walks up to you

1:28.5

and says, you know how you decoupled that coaxial cable to avoid ground loops in that new office

1:33.4

building last week? That was sweet. So, how cool is that, right? And you start to realize that angst

1:42.0

we feel as the recognizor, or the nervousness, or the unearned joy,

1:47.0

or the unearned belief that the recognizee is just bound to be a jerk.

1:51.0

Well, all of that is really just in our heads.
