0:30.7	Augustine Institute. Thank you for joining. Today we're going to dive into the life of St. Polycarp.
0:35.5	Ben, tell us what do we need to know about St. Polycarp?
0:39.2	There is wonderful things to know about St. Polycarp.
0:42.3	He, first and foremost, it's not a name that you hear often.
0:45.0	No.
0:45.3	Not a lot of little boys running around St. Polycarp.
0:48.7	But he's one of the great heroes of the early church.
0:50.9	He is a, I'll give you his dates. We celebrate his feast day February 23rd.
0:55.4	So if you want to mark your calendar, February 23rd is his feast day. It's actually the day that he
0:59.2	dies. And we have, we have words of St. Polycarp. We have the account of his martyrdom.
1:06.1	We have letters that he received from a saint. So he is an incredible gift that we have to the church.
1:12.9	So he's a bridge between the apostles, the apisolic age, and then kind of the second
1:18.8	century. So he's born around 70 AD and then is marty-55-156 AD. Okay. So you would call,
1:25.9	could you call him an apostolic father? Would that be a proper title?
1:29.3	Yeah, that's great. And by Apostolic Father, yeah, exactly. These are the men that knew the Apostles.
1:34.4	So he knew an Apostle. Do you remember which one from St. John? Yeah. Good. Yeah. So Mary is a proud,
1:40.1	we're very proud of her as a graduate of the Augustine Institute. And yes, that's right.
