I'm Father Chris A. Lar here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

And it's wonderful to have you with us.

Today we have a special saint because tomorrow is her feast day, sundays we don't celebrate them liturgically

is saint philomena and this is a saint the only saint in the history of the church that there's

something about that we're going to talk about today and so we're going to explain to you her

incredible role of why she's important today and what you need to know and what the church says.

So praise be to God that you are with us.

And let us start with a prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father, through the intercession of St. Philomena,

we ask that you purify our hearts and our minds and our bodies,

to follow you in complete purity, to be able to have purity of intention,

and to be able to ask all that is your will to be done in our life.

you why. And she is the only saint in history recognized as a saint solely on her intercessory

miracles. Not about the fact of her life. We really don't even know. She's the only saint that is a saint

in the history of the church solely on her intercessory miracles. And we'll talk about that. Not because of her

life of virtue, because we don't know about her life. And that's usually the thing
