Hello everyone and welcome to Catholic Saints. I am Taylor Kemp, the director of Formed, and with me today is Dr. John Seahorn. Dr. Seahorn, it's good to see you.

Good to see you, too, Taylor. I'm glad you're here. Today we are talking about a great saint, St. Louis-Marie Grignon-de-Mont-Fort. Did I say that right?

I French, B-plus. I'll take.. I would have thought I thought I was getting a C there. You have to you have to pinch your lips

together. I'm not serious. It's like do you ever play a horn like trumpet or anything? Well if

you don't have any Amish or you can't do it. Soccer? It didn't do it for the lives. I'm not a linguist. Okay. Let's talk about St. Louis.

All right. Let's talk about him. Okay. So, Dr. Seahorn, where should we begin when it comes to St. Louis de Montfort?

We'll start at the very beginning. That's a lot. A very good place to start. Very good place to start.

Okay. So, yeah, good. So St. Louis was born in 1673. There's actually a lot that we could say about kind of his context. We'll kind of keep it simple for now. But a couple of things that I think that I find really interesting that we're going on. One is St. Louis was born at a time of the kind of flourishing of what's known as the French

School of Spirituality.

Okay.

And there's a lot that we could say about that.

Maybe all I'll say right now is just that the French school really emphasized a deep

kind of entrance into the life of Jesus.

That's awesome.

It is. It's really awesome.

There was this profound emphasis on intimacy with Jesus in his mysteries, in the mysteries of his life.

In fact, you can even see kind of the influence of this in the Catechism and the Catholic Church.

When it talks about how Christ continues to live the influence of this in the catechism, the Catholic Church, when it talks about how

Christ continues to live the mysteries of his life in us, in the members of his body.

Again, there's a lot more we could say about the French school, but I think that's a good
