Mike G. of the War Report and I sat down right outside of Auburn's football complex

after the media availability earlier today.

So here's that conversation.

We just got done talking to Alex Kolish and a handful of players.

Mike G.

talked about probably their worst day in regards to energy,

which is extremely transparent,

but said it was a good opportunity because they needed to coach through it,

see who kind of steps up from a leadership point of view. But sounds like he was happy the day happened, but wasn't happy with the day,

if that makes sense. Yeah, you know, he said some positive things about the previous practices,

but like you said, he was very transparent in saying the energy and attention to detail wasn't

what he wanted it to be today. Look, you're going to have practices like that throughout the spring. I feel like we heard Free say some similar things, you know, in saying, hey, I didn't like practice today. Or, you know, so it's going to happen, right? We've heard that under multiple Auburn coaches. But, you know, overall, I think what I heard is the team is coming along. They're buying in. They're progressing. And those things will start to come along. Yeah. Yeah. Talked a lot about leadership, waiting for certain guys to kind of step up and lead. The name that I've heard him kind of mentioned the most, whether, and really, I don't think he's been asked about this guy at all but he keeps

bringing up Elijah Melendez when you talk about leadership and then Cody Sigler as well

those two guys kept coming up over and over and over again obviously leadership with Cole Best was

brought up talked about Joe Simmons the transfer at tackle from JMU. But yeah, it's interesting.

Those two names on defense, specifically, Sigler and Elijah Melendez.
