Hello and welcome to the Story Grid podcast. This is a show dedicated to helping you become a better

0:06.6

writer. I'm your host Tim Graal and I am a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a story

0:12.8

that works. Joining me shortly as Sean Coyne, he is the creator of Story Grid, the author of

0:18.4

the book Story Grid and an editor with over 25 years experience.

In this episode, we continue working through the first draft and looking at what it takes

0:29.1

to move from a first draft to a second draft. So I've never done this before, and it's been a really

0:35.5

interesting process. I don't know what I was picturing, but it was not this. So it's been a really interesting process. I don't know what I was picturing,

1:15.9

working. So let's dive in and get started. So Sean, I started working through the spreadsheet

1:23.5

and have been surprised at what a slog it is to get through this.

1:31.3

I kept thinking, like, I'm going to sit down and, like, bang out, you know, 10 scenes.

1:35.9

And an hour later, I've got, like, four scenes that I've worked through.

1:40.9

And so I'm through.

1:42.9

I'm going to put the link to the spreadsheet in the show

1:46.3

notes because it's on the Google Drive thing. And so what I did is I got the spreadsheet

1:51.7

on one tab and the to-do list on another tab and I'm through scene 25 and I have 66
