Emergency Podcast. Spencer Knight signs a three-year $5.83 million per year extension.

Good news, big news. I don't want to say out of the blue mario but

uh elliott freeman sort of hinted at this a couple weeks ago but we were not expecting

this today mario tirbossi your initial thoughts on this deal kyle davidson again gets a deal

that i think works for both sides incredibly well.

Three years, $5.8383 million.

I think that that's completely fair for Spencer Knight because, like with Blasick, like with Nazar, you're paying for what the guy can become.

Right.

And I think with Spencer Knight, you know, we've talked about the Dustin Wolf contract, which was

seven years, seven point five, Lucas Dolstall was, you know, six and a half, I think, in that

range.

And we were thinking, okay, Spencer Knight, if he doesn't, you know, doesn't sign a deal before this season goes out and proves, yes, he can be that starter of the future for the Blackhawks. Then you're talking about a deal probably in that six and a half, you know, in that range, maybe a little bit more. And to get it at 5.83, I think that's really good because then if he does go out there this season does prove he is that starter to the future and can, can handle all that comes

with it, then you get him at a very reasonable, if not bargain kind of deal for the guy he can be.

Yeah, it's everything you said is correct, a fair deal for both sides.

It's a pay raise for Knight who was making $4.5 million on the last deal.

And you mentioned some of the other goalie deals.

You said Dostall.

That was a five-year point five million dollar extension with

Anaheim, um, Carl Vamelka with Utah five years, four point seven five million. The only thing that

caught me a little bit about the Spencer night deal was that it was only a three year extension,

which is so now it's, it's four years from its next year plus three I was thinking

...
