Just before 5 p.m. the city of Greenville responded to a freedom of information request we

filed October 24th.

We filed that request based on information from multiple sources.

Those sources said Greenville Police had uncovered what they believed was possibly new evidence in the 44-year-old Rufus and Frank Looper murder case.

Over the past couple of weeks, we've reached out to the police department,

asking for comment about what the sources had said.

Tonight, we're still waiting on a response from the police, but we're no longer waiting for official

confirmation. Because today, the city of Greenville turned over proof. The sources were correct.

So tonight we're putting out this brief special report to update you with what we've learned, about new evidence, where it came from, and whose name was on it.

It was a meeting of the city's public safety Citizen Review Board, something the Board does once a quarter.

It was a quick meeting last quarter, I remember that.

That's the voice of the Board's Chairwoman, Dorothy Dow.

Just yesterday, Dow won city-wide election for City Council,

unseating Republican incumbent George Fletcher. But last July she was running this

meeting. The Citizen Review Board exists to address grievances

from police and Fire Department uniformed employees and it listens to public
