Today is Thursday, September 26, 2024, and this is a special episode of

the excerpt. Is former President Donald Trump's rhetoric encouraging or inciting political

violence is that part of the reason violent threats

and attacks have increased across a political spectrum. There have now been not

one but two assassination attempts on Trump's life. Both candidates now speak behind bulletproof glass at outdoor

events. After falsely claiming that Haitian immigrants are eating pet dogs and cats

in Springfield, Ohio, shooting and bomb threats have forced evacuations

and lockdowns at schools and hospitals.

And one in four Republicans support political violence

if the election is quote unquote compromised?

Is violence surrounding U.S. elections the new normal?
