In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast host Ryan Abraham welcomes in a special guest to talk about the Trojans recruiting class and head coaching search, USCFootball.com national recruiting analyst Gerard Martinez. The last time Gerard was on the show it was an early morning emergency podcast following USC's loss to Oregon State. This episode isn't technically an emergency podcast, but following the de-commitment of five-star defensive back Domani Jackson, dropping the Trojans recruiting class to No. 67 in the nation and No. 9 in the Pac-12, it very well could be.
Gerard and Ryan give their thoughts on if there is any way to salvage this 2022 recruiting class plus they talk about some of the top names that are candidates to become the next head coach at USC and how their hires could impact recruiting. The guys also answer some listener questions including one about the secrecy of the search by the athletic department and if we think Donte Williams will be retained by the next head coach.
