Today is Saturday, July 27th.

It's been just less than a week since President Biden made the decision

to drop out of the 2024 race for the White House,

kicking off a process we've never seen

take place so close to election day. Already though it seems Democrats have

unified behind a new candidate. Today is actually the deadline for any other

Democrats who want to run against Vice President Kamala Harris for the nomination to put

their hat in the ring.

Assuming though no one else comes forward, we now have a good idea of what happens next.

Still, it made us want to take a step back and explain how all of this will work,

including things like how Harris will take over

Biden's campaign funds, why Dembs are holding a virtual vote before the convention,

and what happens if Republicans try to challenge the entire process in court.
