Summary

Based on the success of our recent Mormon Stories Conference in New York City, we have decided to organize several local, Facebook-based communities of support for what we like to call uncorrelated (or intellectual/feminist/gay/politically liberal/inactive/post/ex) Mormons. We have already created 32 groups, and hope to establish a support group for every major city/region in the world. The idea behind each group will be to: 1) foster local, face-to-face communities of support for non-traditional Mormons, and 2) help to encourage healthy/constructive living amongst those for whom the traditional LDS Church experience is not adequate. Note: this is NOT meant to replace the LDS church experience. Instead, it is meant to augment the church experience (for those who still attend), or to provide community support for those who no longer feel comfortable attending church. Some ideas we are hoping to foster include: Monthly local meet-ups Book clubs/study groups Weekly play groups for children Annual youth conferences for teens College groups for Mormon university students (BYU/UVU and USU already created!) A dating service Service projects Annual conferences/retreats Etc. If you are interested in any of this, please check out our existing groups for a group near you. 0:51.6	we have opened, I don't know, 35 to 40 Facebook groups in different regions around the world.
0:59.4	So, you know, Atlanta, Georgia, Boise, Idaho, Boston, Massachusetts, Charlotte, Chicago,
1:04.1	Dallas, Denver, Hawaii, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Logan, Louisville,
1:09.8	New York City, Ogden, Oklahoma City, Orange County, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland,
1:15.0	Provo, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Southern Utah,
1:21.0	Spokane, and Washington, DC, along with groups for BYU University, Utah Valley University,
1:28.3	U of U, Utah State University, one in Vancouver, Canada, Germany, London, Sweden, Latin America,
1:35.2	Asia, and Africa. Sorry for the big list. The purpose of these groups is for uncorrelated Mormons
1:43.1	like you, listeners to Mormon stories podcast, to be able to get to know people in your local area,
1:49.6	to be able to have meet-up groups with them, to be able to create play groups for your children,
1:56.4	support groups for mothers, or for men, book clubs, maybe even someday regional conferences,
2:05.5	youth conferences, EFYs for uncorrelated Mormons, whatever is needed, we want these groups to work
2:12.5	towards filling your needs. Just a few quick disclaimers about these communities,
2:19.1	they're not created to bash the church, they're not created to be anti-mormon venues or to recruit,
