It read as follows, Dr Gabriel, dentist, 27 Harley Street, Cavendish Square.

Dr. Gabriel's professional attendance will be 10 till 5.

I have never had any dealings with them, and back to ask by what right do they disturb me by a telegram which is evidently

simply the medium of advertisement.

A word from you would I feel sure put a stop to this intolerable nuisance."

The telegram that the Member of Parliament received was an advertisement or an early form of spam.

Unfortunately, his angry letter to the London Times did not stop the spam phenomenon.

If anything, the exposure in the newspaper probably doubled or even tripled the clinic's income.
