What's up everyone? Kevin from Epic Gardening here. So we're back again with

Silaway Olivero of Suburban Homestead which is a fantastic YouTube channel that I

highly recommend you guys to check out so we're throwing it back to one of the earlier

episodes we did. So edible landscaping ideas, but we're going to talk a little bit more about

space design to create some magic in the garden. And you know know I'm not much of an aesthetic or

design focus person and Silaway is and I'm really curious Silaway what you have

to say about you know creative ways to design space in the garden. Yeah design is form and

function so it's not just about form it's not just about beauty. It needs to be practical. But conversely if it's only practical and it does not evoke anything if it doesn't evoke emotions, I feel like it can be a very dry and barren and

unhomely place. And the last thing you want is for your home to be unhomely.

I think that's that's a sad state of affairs. So you want

a, ideally you want a cozy space, a space that is magical, a space that you will, think of this way, if you were a child, how would you remember that space or how different that space would be or how much of a

memory it would create. I remember my grandmother's garden in Spututist and I said all love that and I just remember being there amongst the

and I just remember being there amongst the leaves like playing around the little

pockets of spaces and frankly it wasn't a beautiful place from design in design sense it wasn't it was just like a haphazard grouping in plants, but being surrounded by textures, by sounds and sense and tastes even is magical by itself.

If you can structure that into a pleasing harmonic

composition, then I think it's better because you're going to please people and for us to completely discount

aesthetics as non practical or non useful goes against the common sense as to why companies spend so much on advertisement to try to make things beautiful.

And I even am going to put a little bit of criticism to modernist thought in terms of aesthetics. They wanted to things to be only pure

and honest right and with that they battled against beauty and beauty had been a very established

concept of course it changes according to society and to tastes.

But beauty, there's still something that's

universal about beauty in symmetry, in rhythm,
