Did you know that there are two different types of lettuce?

There are those with hearts such as Coz, Butterhead and Iceberg, and then there's

loose leaf lettuce. Both types can be grown in the UK,

undercover and outdoors, and some can provide you with leaves all year round. The loose leaf

varieties work well for a cut-and-come-again salad leaf, which is why I love this type of lettuce

so much. It's great to pop out and cut a few leaves for lunchtime to put in a sandwich or to make a salad,

knowing the leaves were growing only a few minutes ago.
