My favourite to grow from seed is a cornflower because it's so cheery and beautiful. The seed heads are beautiful when the flowers have gone over and you get them in a lovely, lovely range of colours. They're just,

and they could pretty much grow anywhere. I first discovered cornflowers because I was living by the sea, which sounds really idyllic,

but it was really, really, really hard to grow anything.

So I just got annual seed mixes and would sew them.

And they were just the most cheerful, wonderful plant that would grow every year.
