I'm your host, Gibson Johns, and today on the show, we have writer Taylor Crumpton,

who has been on Gavin with Gibb before.

Taylor wrote an article earlier this year called Bravo Celebrates Black Culture, but we still

have work to do, which featured an interview with Vanita Aspen from Southern Charm, and Taylor's Southern Roots come into play a lot in her writing, which frequently touches on pop culture through the lens of black identity and black culture. She's also writing a book about Black Women on reality TV. So now that Southern Charm is back, I wanted to have her return to the show to talk about the premiere, talk about Vanita's evolving place on the show, also explore some of the other ideas that she's brought up in her writing over the years when it comes to reality TV. So we talked a lot about Southern Charm, but then I also gave her the floor to share some of her thoughts on how Garcell's been treated by some of the online fan base early into this season of Beverly Hills.

And we also touched on a few more topics towards the end of our conversation. Taylor is so damn smart. And it's really one of those episodes where I feel like I've learned so much through talking to somebody. And I was pushed to think outside of myself more, which I always appreciate. Taylor first came on to talk about Beyonce earlier this year, and that was just discussing

with her off mic.

Her career has just really skyrocketed since that moment, and we didn't get to talk about

Bravo back then, but Taylor is truly one of my favorite writers.

She's one of the smartest people that I, for whose work I read. And I'm really happy to have her here to talk about all things Bravo. She's also working on a book about Black women on reality TV. So a lot to talk about Taylor. Thanks for being here again. How are you?

I'm so happy to be back with you. We get to talk about Bravo. Also, congratulations on an amazing

year in the pot. I'm just happy to see Gavin would continue to grow, and I want many blessings in the

next year. That's very nice of you to say. There's a lot happening on Bravo right now. And before we

get to that, though, at the top here, give like sort of the synopsis or sort of what you're thinking is about this book that you're writing.

I know you're writing two books right now, but when it comes to the reality TV book, what sort of the log line?

What sort of wheels are spinning for you as you work on that?

Yeah, the book is called Girl Please.
