Hey, Jesse Dukes here, and we have a question about Harold's Chicken Shack.

Now, if you don't know what that is, well, I'm embarrassed for you.

But Harold's Chicken Shack is the name of several fast food restaurants throughout Chicago and the region.

Most are on the south and west side of the city.

The menu features fried catfish and perch and other Chicago fast food staples like pizza puffs.

But most people I know go there for the fried chicken dinners or chicken wings. They're also locally famous for their mild

sauce, and if you don't know what that is, I feel sorry for you. Desiree Crosby grew up in the

South Chicago neighborhood, and her her heralds of choice was nearby.

My favorite heralds is the one right on 87th in state. You can walk to it off of the 87th

red line. You could get on the 87 bus. And it's crazy because it's right off of a gas station.

Like, it's not its own independent shack. But that heralds by 87th is by far the best one, I think, in the

entire city. Now, when she says it's the best, she's not just talking about decor and service.

She's actually talking about the food there. See, a few years ago, she moved closer to downtown

to go to UIC for college. I was like grabbing Harold out from the west side now.

And it was different because it's, I didn't like it.

My life was confusing and I was like, why are they different?

So Desiree wanted to know why does the chicken taste different at different Harold's chicken

shacks?

And she's not alone.

Now, some people might take issue with her claim of the best heralds,

but food riders and connoisseurs agree the chicken tastes different at different locations.

And so does the mild sauce, by the way.
