Hey, everybody, I'm excited to be recording the 34th episode of the All Things Fishing podcast this week.

And on this week's episode, I'm taking a bit of a break from the series that I started last week about building a raft to do a review on a very very awesome spinning combo that I

actually got for free I'll go into that more in a minute but very very awesome

spinning column called the South Bend or made by South Bend called the South Bend

R2F yeah I'm very excited about it yeah so this is a spinning rod and real combo um so i'm

going to start off with the rod the rod is five and a half feet so five feet six inches um it is made

for six to ten pound line i have 20 pound line on there. And it is made for 1 eighth

ounce to 516 ounce lures and then it has four guides. So nothing really special there.

That's pretty the 6 to 10 pound line. Pretty standard for a rod of this size.

It is also, I believe, a medium heavy. Yeah, it's a medium light actually. Yeah, so it's a medium light rod.

Yeah, so pretty standard for a medium light rod, all that.

Um, the rod also has a nice, a pretty nice split grip.

Um, this is it, on this rod specifically I like it because I'm casting, um, loaurs that are probably too heavy for it.

So I can just like, I can hold the reel on the top and then I grip and I

hold that base hold what's basically a knob on the bottom of the reel on the bottom of the

rod sorry and just like kind of flip the rod and cast that way it's the the rod is so

it's a really good rod um so on the reel it is a one um there has only one ball

bearing um i'll explain probably why in a minute but yeah it only has one ball bearing on a lot
