This is a series, I and the world. I'm John Bachelor. South Africa, the elections that rattled South Africa now look to be resolved in a positive fashion.

I welcome Ronan Wordsworth of geopolitical futures and analysts who was recently in South

Africa now returned to mainland Europe, observing the results of what

you'd have to say sophisticated negotiation. Reuters reporting from Johannesburg, the

African National Congress said South Africa's new government has five parties in it so far,

representing more than two-thirds of the seats than the National Assembly.

Talks with other parties were ongoing. The election that set this up was a surprise

to everyone in that ANC lost its majority for the first time ever. And the question question was when I spoke with Ronan in Cape Town

could President Cyril met Ramposa find a way to maneuver his party to make common cause with the Democratic

alliance which is understood as a white lead party interested in economics

balancing the books.

Where are all the dissenting voices in the ANC will never work with them?

Yeah, so if we look at why I said it had to happen, it's because the only alternative really because of the two different ideologies of different

parties besides at ANC where I had to either go with the DA and IFP or to the other side with the

MK party of Jegazuma or the EFF of Malema and within the ANC I think there was this internal division surrounding

what was the better option. Cyril himself the president and some of the senior members

wanted to go with DA and IFP, however, were worried about the optics that that might give to their voter base if they had an outward coalition.
