Summary

I wanted to speak directly to the fear that I know I’ve felt as I’ve seen so many directly affected by job loss, potential job loss, forced moves, and facing circumstances that they never expected.    The fear is real, it’s humanly understandable, but there is a remedy for it and it’s simpler (yet harder) than one might think. However, it is life-changing.    As modern people with SO many resources at our disposal, we often overindulge and end up overwhelming ourselves because we take in way more than we can actually meaningfully apply and obey.    Listen in and be encouraged! We really DON’T have to fear bad news.    Song: King of the World Resources shared: Attributes of God by A.W. Pink Proverbs 29:25 Proverbs 3:5-8 Isaiah 40:26-28 (If you haven't checked out my new book, The Four Hour School Day please do that!  As a 25+ year veteran homeschooling mom of 8, I share WHY you can give your kids a robust education in four hours a day or less! Today I'm hoping to bring just a little bit of perspective.

0:25.3

I know that over the last 20 months, I can't tell you how many times I have lost perspective

0:31.8

with all that's been going on in the world around us. And it's just really been on my heart

0:36.7

to share some things that I feel like

0:39.4

the Lord wants to remind us of. I think the first thing that I really want to encourage you in

0:47.3

is to just let you know that you are not responsible for the events that have happened or are happening

0:58.6

around us in the world and in our own country and in our culture. I think it's easy to forget

1:06.5

that God is sovereign. These things that are happening, they are events. And by definition,

1:14.2

events are, you know, they're big things. They involve lots of people. But we have to remember

1:21.8

that biblically speaking, God is sovereign over every event that happens.

1:28.1

You know, so many times I think as moms, we struggle with we want to do something.

1:33.0

Like we want to fix it because we want to fix it for our kids.

1:35.7

We want their future to be sure and to be steady and to be safe and secure.

1:43.1

And that's a wonderful desire to have. But at the end of the day,

1:47.2

we actually can't give that to our kids. We can be part of that process as we teach them and train

1:53.5

them and disciple them and ground them in the word. But at the end of the day, that safety and that

1:58.0

security can only come from the Lord.

2:01.0

And so we want to make sure that we're not sending a message to our kids that not that we don't do things,

2:10.6

not that we don't vote properly, not that we don't, if God put something in front of us to do,

2:15.9

to make a difference or to, you know, impact the culture or

2:19.4

whatever, we should do that. You know, I think we have responsibility in that respect. But at the end of the
