He's an adjunct lecturer for the State Department's Foreign Service Institute and an instructor on sectarian divide in the

Middle East in the Sunni versus Shia. He's also an adjunct professor at Johns

Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences here in Washington, D.C.

where he's the instructor for two MA-level courses, politics and

security in the Middle East, and global security studies.

He holds a PhD in International History from the London School of Economics and Political Science
