In fact, I recently had a conversation on climate one that might interest folks in Brooklyn.

As you may know, it's getting more expensive to keep the lights on. New York

State recently approved an increase in electricity rates for ConEd customers at the tune of 9%.

But in Sunset Park, New York City's first community-led solar project is underway. It's called

Sunset Park Solar. If you like biking around the water in Sunset Park

like me, you may have actually seen it. It's a bunch of solar panels installed on the roof

of the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The idea is to give renters, homeowners and small businesses

in the neighborhood access to solar energy, even if they don't have the roof access or building

ownership to install solar panels themselves.

So it's kind of like solar power to the people. You know what I'm saying?

The project is one way communities are trying to innovate on energy.
