Hey everybody. Welcome back to the Ones Ready podcast. It's just Trent here today to talk about something that I just felt like talking about. I didn't even tell the boys I was hopping on here to record because I didn't want to have to listen to Aaron go on his long diribes, and actually put himself on mute so he could

film silly videos in the middle of our recording. But I did want to talk about today as two things,

value and experience. And what those two things mean and how to make your experience

valuable to others. Because your experiences are not inherently valuable to other people.

And one of the problems that we run into is people have a hard time saying what they mean,

or they're not sure what they're trying to say. They know they have something valuable to put out, but they're not always sure how to do that.

And they're not sure how to translate their experience into value. And they get lost along the

ways. And there's a lot of traps in there. And I want to talk about some of that real quick.

So story time, when I was a staff sergeant, E5, I had the opportunity to see behind the curtain a little bit

I was an instructor at the schoolhouse and they invited me into their meetings that you have every

couple of years to go over all of the training documentation or all the things that your career

field is going to train on for the next couple of years it's a big deal all the all the bigwigs are there and we talk about what we going to train on for the next couple of years. It's a big deal. All the, all the bigwigs are there. And we talk about what we need to train on, how much we need to

train on it. And the tools that we train with, right? The radios, the weather sensing equipment,

the weapons, you know, how how much we value certain things like the jumping and the swimming and all that other

stuff so that's where everybody gets together and we sit down with the paperwork and we rehash

everything and the goal is to move forward the goal is to make the the career field better the goal is

efficiency right at least that's that's me that's what my goal was. Um, and I, I didn't know what I was doing,

but it was weird. We, we ended up in a side room with a chief, I think it was a chief of the time,

and a master sergeant and myself. And I remember we're going through these line items, right? And then radios

change quickly. And, quickly and uh this this master

sergeant we were we're looking at the the PSC 5 which is an old radio a lot of the army units still

had them around but they weren't really using them and this guy hadn't had any like recent
