I'm John Bachelor with my good colleague Jean Marks, a small business columnist for the Guardian,

distinguished publications. We now go to a column that Gene published, I believe,

in the Hill, about taxes. We vote our pocketbooks. We talk foreign policy, we talk social concerns, all of that, but we vote the pocketbooks that last weekend

in October we're saying what's good for my taxes.

All right, Jean, you've looked at the vice president on taxes I'm unaware where we're going with

this but I do know that the tax cut act of 2017 is set to expire.

Yeah.

With Miss Harrison, the White House, that happens.

Is that correct?

Does.

And John, I do want to preempt this by just saying that there are a lot of reasons why people will vote for a

presidential candidate and everybody has got their issues that are most

important to them and I don't think any of us should be judging other people's issues because what's

important to some might not be important to others.

Taxes are important to me, not only just as a CPA but as a business owner. It is it directly affects me even in

compared to some of the other issues that are shaping the race. So you know

when I look at taxes the tax policies of both you know what i look at taxes the tax policies

uh... of both you know the presumptive nominee you know harris

and and d Donald trump

i've done my calculations and and if a harris gets uh... elected uh... by tax my tax bill

bill will go up somewhere between 20 and 30 percent.
