we begin with the story of the week, which is wholesale prices of PPI. You will recall

Gene during 2022 was keen to remind us that he was hearing in his travels in America.

Business to business prices, spiking, resources, materials, everything much higher than the

reported inflation. That was an early warning that the inflation number was reaching into

all of us, the consumer as well. Right now the PPI's frightened the markets. They reacted

very badly. Why? Because of Federal Reserve's job is to get inflation down to a 2% target.

We're in the 6th. We're very far from a gene, a very good evening to now. Here's the

puzzle. I know the PPI came in high and then expected. And you've been speaking about

that for more than a year now. So you were not surprised. But does this tell us that small

businesses get discouraged? That they can handle the prices? What does this tell the small
