Last year I joined a secret society.

The word cofere means brothers, our members, our good friends.

And so the cofere is a friendship, an organization based on friendships.

In that sense, I guess, it is a little bit of an underground cult.

Bonnie Broussard and Roslin White are my fellow cult members.

They belong to the Confere de Abbeville, based in Abbeville, Louisiana.

It's an honor to be invited. It means that that group thinks that you could really contribute and be a good ambassador of your city

Like other fraternal organizations turned community groups think you know the Elks Club, Eagles Club, the masons.

The Conferry de Abbeville is steeped in tradition.

Their members have celebratory outfits,
