I'm Gianna Jalosi with your Fox True Crime Minute. A woman who stabbed her friend 19 times a decade

ago to impress the fictional character, Slender Man,

is going to be released from a psychiatric center. Morgan Geiser, now 22 years old, requested

early release from her 40-year commitment back in October. Geiser was charged with attempted

first-degree intentional homicide after she and a classmate, Anissa Weir, lured their friend, Peyton

Lightner, into the woods in Waukesha, Wisconsin in May of 2014.

All three girls were 12 at the time. Geyser stabbed Leitner 19 times with a kitchen knife while

Wire watched and egged her on. Lightner managed to crawl away and was found by a cyclist and survived

after months of recovery. Geyser and Wire were caught on their way to a mansion they believed

belonged to Slender Man. He's an internet character shown as a their way to a mansion. They believed belong to Slender Man.

He's an internet character shown as a dark creature in a suit.

They told the two cops they carried out the stabbing to please him.

Wire pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was sentenced to 25 years in a psychiatric hospital.

She was released in 2021.
