Well, there's nothing like a little Kansas City barbecue making its way to the White House and impressing the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who on Monday had a small business forum at the White House, gave a great speech, had a bunch of people in from all over the country, people that run small businesses. They were able to set up little displays and tables, and then when it was over, they showed the president, as he walked around a little bit, exactly what their product or service is and what it is that they do and where they're from. Among those was Joe Pierce and his team from Slaps Barbecue in Kansas City, Kansas. They had

an awesome table of goods set up right there as he talked to the president or wanted to talk to

the president about his line of barbecue from Kansas City and their slogan, squeal like a pig,

which is kind of an awesome slogan when you think about it. But that wasn't the topic Trump wanted to talk about. He did ask

about the business. It was brief. And then the entire discussion was about Patrick Mahomes.

And here's Donald Trump walking by the Slaps barbecue table at the White House saying, oh, how's Patrick Mahomes doing?

Is he going to make it back for the first game? He's going to be okay. Was the injury that bad?

He asked four, five, six questions of the contingent from Slaps Barbecue who was there, and they all

decided that Kansas City is hopeful that Patrick Mahams will play in game one of the Chief

season. The schedules do out either next week or the week after, so we're very close to learning

what the Chief's schedule will be. And Trump seemed to be very interested in Patrick Mahomes,

a health update repeatedly said, what a great young man, what a great family. He knows the

entire bunch is Team MAGA. And of course, they're three-time Super Bowl champions.

What's not to love in a couple of states that Trump has carried easily, Kansas and Missouri.

So politically, it was a very easy moment for Donald Trump, but he is a sports fan. He is a football fan.

It just seemed so Kansas City that a small businessman like Joe Pierce, who has not been in business

that long, Slaps is not one of these traditional 50-year-old Kansas City barbecue places.

They were running around doing the competition circuit, and it's been a little over a decade

ago that he opened his restaurant, and it is terrific and it's unique.
