Joined as always by Bruce Feldman. Obviously we are a college football podcast. We have

spring games coming up this weekend, Bruce.

We're also just a couple days removed

from the end of March Madness.

And I just wanted to bring this up because I just think it's so noteworthy.

For the first time ever, more people watch the women's basketball

national championship game than the men's national championship game and the

Caitlin Clark effect was so pronounced that that event in the span of two years went from a four to five million

viewer game to last year 9.9 million this year, 18.7 million people tuned in for the

women's national championship game between Yukon and I'm sorry, between South

Carolina and Iowa and to put that in perspective that's the same

number of people that watched one of the college football playoff semi-finals

the Texas Washington game in our decades covering the sport I never in a million years imagine that would be possible

It was it was pretty amazing to see I mean I watched a lot of the games especially the Iowa games

I'll be honest when when we went to Iowa City two years ago in I want to say

it was in October of 2022. I didn't know I had heard of Caitlin Clark. I didn't know anything about her and I didn't know

she was this transcendent generational basketball player. I knew she was an all American there, but and our crew had done a bunch,

especially Matt and Reggie had done a lot of shooting with her for some different things and we went to their,

I don't cause, I wouldn't call it their like equivalent of midnight madness,

but they had both the men and women's teams in a street that was blocked off and it was a great,

you know, it was a great turnout and it was fun and so from that point on you were kind of on on board of the
