Summary

Welcome... to the beginning of the end? Of season 20 at least. Which I did not realize until now. OOPS.

Sukanya is back! And so are the Browns and former Browns as we start the painful and delightful process of unpacking what on earth we all just spent several months watching. I'm so happy.

Thank you. Hello, and as always, welcome to the sister wives professor. That is me. My name is Adam. I have a PhD in interpersonal and family communication, and I am indeed a real life professor. Still, today is, well, if you're hearing this on Patreon, it's not. If you're

0:46.5

hearing this on the public feed, today is the first day of the spring semester. I don't go to work

0:51.0

today. I don't go to work until Tuesday. I'm teaching actually graduate classes.

0:55.3

So I'm teaching mostly at night this semester, which is kind of neat in a way. Kind of weird because I missed dinner with my kids, but, you know, I don't think they really mind all that much. But that's what it is, man. But yeah, so I'm back in it. Break was good. Hope that the holidays were good for you.

1:10.7

The kids are back at school.

1:11.8

So the fact that I managed to keep up with podcasts, while all three of the children were home all the time, I'm sorry. I'm a little bit proud of myself and also very, very grateful to Amanda, my wife, who made that possible because to be honest, she's the one that made it happen.

1:26.9

As always, not complain and

1:28.0

just figure, some of you can probably relate. My kids are so done with me. I think they are so

1:33.7

glad to be back at school and being away from dad and all of dad's fun ideas for family bonding.

1:39.4

I like to think that they will grow up and be like, oh man, my dad dad was fun. But right now, I am cringe, apparently,

1:47.0

which is fine. I may also be a little suss. What's happening? Words used to make sense to me.

1:53.9

I'm a professional word guy, and I don't understand. I used to be cool. You know, well, okay,

1:59.8

that's not true. You know what is cool? How's that for a transition? Sister Wives, season 20, episode 16, one-on-one part one. Holy crap, did you know last week was the season finale in terms of the regular episodes? You would think I would know that. You would think I, of all people, know that. This is somehow my job, and I did not know that. I don't know. But okay, sure. Was it a good finale?

2:23.9

Yeah, I think so. Look, here's the thing. We're going to go through these tell-alls, these one-on-ones, is I think what they're being called, even though it's kind of a misnomer, because oftentimes in this episode alone, they're not one-on-one, but fair enough, it is what it is, man. Language is fluid. But listen, no, I'm going to give you a reflection on the season as a whole once the season is done, but we've got at least several of these tell-alls, these one-on-ones, to go through. so I'm not going to reflect on that just yet, but I do want to talk about this episode. So why don't we just go ahead and do that? Because I am really ready to go. And we opened with Sukanya, her narration. And to me anyway, it was nice to hear her voice, man. I'm a big Suki fan, though. We'll talk about that as it comes up naturally, but I think Suki does a really good job. Actually, I think Suki is really underrated as far as how good she does at a very, very hard job in terms of interviewing. I certainly am not comparing myself to Sucanya and like get out of here but I have interviewed

3:24.2

hundreds of people for work oftentimes about difficult situations oftentimes difficult people

3:28.8

and it's really hard it's really hard it's stressful it's nerve-wracking I don't do that nearly

3:35.5

so much because I'm kind of past that stage in my career not permanently but I'm not trying

3:40.7

to publish or perish

3:41.5

anymore for a number of reasons. But I do. I get how hard that job can be in theory, not in practice,

3:47.8

because I've never done obviously what she does. But it's just nice to see Suki. Hi, Suki.
